Reports
The reporting suite: pick your data, pick your students, then pick the report type that answers your question.
The Reports page is one page that can answer a lot of different questions. You choose the entities — the assessments, questions, or standards you want to look at — and the cohorts — the students, classes, schools, or district you want to look at them for. Then you pick a report type, which decides how that same data is drawn.
Switching report types never changes your entities or cohorts, so it’s cheap to try another view of the same question. Every report also has an interactive data table underneath it: click a number to see which students it covers, and right-click for options like adding a question or a substandard.
Choosing a report type
The report type picker (upper right) lists these, in this order:
| Report type | What it shows | Reach for it when |
|---|---|---|
| Stacked Bar | Stacked bars for each entity | You want overall performance on something, or to compare several entities side by side. The default from the pacing page. |
| Question Analysis | Assessment question details | You want to know which questions students struggled with. The default from the spreadsheet. |
| Standard Analysis | Performance by standard | You’re asking about standards rather than assessments. |
| Score Histogram / Proficiency Histogram | Distribution by score, or by proficiency | You want the spread across a group, not its average. |
| Completion | Completion on selected entities | You’re tracking who has finished assessing, not how they did. |
| Line Chart | A line for each cohort | You’re watching change over time, or comparing groups’ trends. |
| Standard Growth | Performance on a standard over time | You want every assessment opportunity for one standard, in sequence. |
| Assessment Progress | Performance on an assessment over time | An assessment (or one question) has been given more than once. |
| Sankey Chart | Flow of students between entities | You want to see how the same students moved between two or more data points. |
| Standard Wheel | Performance on multiple standards | You want many standards at a glance. |
| Data Table | Student-by-student performance | You need names and numbers — or a CSV. This is the only type you can download. |
| Correlation Statistics | Correlation between entities | You’re validating how two measures relate, e.g. assessment alignment. |
Doing something with a report
- Create Intervention Groups from Reports — turn a selection in the data table into a cohort, then into an intervention group.
- Saving and Sharing Reports
- Creating Dashboards in Forefront — when you want several reports in one place instead of one report to share.
